Imagine a 08 C6 in a matte finish, or a new house with no paint on it.
Its low rent shiek.
I don't care for it and I don't care for candy and perals, middle of the path for me. A well kept OEM factory paint job is what I like.
Someone years ago asked me to paint thier car in a matte finish, I said do it yourself, you can't make a mistake.
Lets call it for what it is, a cheap out.
Some of those so called rat rods like Jimmy Shine's look like a scrap pile that vaguely resembles a hot rod.
I don't think the majority of car owners would want a flat paint job.
The group here is in the minority.
But you're right to each his own. Its not for me and I hate rap music too. Lets hope the new cool, doesn't catch on.

yea, if i saw a C6/Z in matte black, i'd probably fall to my knees and cry. i love the C6, in Z form its the best corvette of all-time. can't wait for the supercharged LS9, finally GM has it right; that's a car you don't need screw with under the hood.
to the OP: give it a nice paint job, same color as factory. i love the updated old school look of the torque thrust II's, they will look great on your car. i'd get them for mine, but i don't want to spend anything extra anymore, stopped doing it 2 years ago. i'm too cheap to **** money on cars
oh and i agree........rap SUCKS, its ugly, crass, illegitimate, a joke at best, and definitely the lowest form of nasty noise out there. it has a huge dumb-f'k felony murder criminal-element sound to it. there's a reason for that, of course.

H-D did this paint scheme in 2007 on the VRSCDX. And there was a huge demand for it.
I personally like the contrast in colors and two different finishes.

Rat Rod 101:
Take out the seats, use a milk crate, weld the doors shut and in place of the astro glass, repalce with something akin to an FRC and cut a flap for quick exits. Powdercoat the wheels to matte black and take out all the interior glass, replacing with web netting on the sides and plexi on the front and rear.
Take out the carpeting and just use a heat shield. That Bose radio? Gone.In it's place an AM/FM portable with chrome antenna sticking out the window - hence the web netting.
Hooker shorty headers and if you can get away with it in your state, cut off the cats and run straight pipes out the back in the inlets.

That was my original plan. Here is a pic of the car as I am driving now just primered black.
Overall the response here in the Forum to that was totally negative.
People on the street seem to like it however.
I would have not done this except the paint on the car was wasted when I bought it.
It's your car, do it up how you like it.
