Which one is better C4 Lt4 or Lt5 ??

Of course you know the LT5 refers to the "King of the Hill" ZR1. There is no comparision between the LT4 and the LT5. Two completely different animals. If you can, go with the LT5 or ZR1. Now if you start talking modifications, the LT4 is less expensive to modify.

I guess that would depend on what makes one 'best'
Base hp for the LT4 is advertised at 330, which most would agree is probably more like 350. The LT5 is listed initially at 375 hp and later bumped to 405.
Peak torque for the LT5 was initially 370 and later 385 ft#, whereas the LT4 was 330, but some sources say it was more like 340.
The LT5 was built to sustain 7000 rpm - a true racing engine from it's inception. Don't even try it with the LT4.
In the quarter mile it would depend on the drivers. But beyond the quarter, and the ZR-1 is going to walk away...smartly!
There is no way to really explain the differences in performance. The '96LT4 is a sweet car to be sure. But, the ZR-1 was built to race, and the LT5 is simply the "Heart of the Beast", as they say.
Best thing to do is drive each and decide for yourself which one better serves your performance desires. But, I'm betting the ZR-1 w/ it's LT5 will take your breath away (as it has mine!!!!! - One test drive, and I was hooked. )

Great advice from above posts. The LT5 has both advantages and disadvantages but that LT5 will take over and become an obsession. The LT5 begs to be driven hard and will actually perfom better if you don't drive it like a grocery getter. The LT4 is also great in its own regard but you can't really compare the two given the vast differences between them mechanically. The LT5 will go so far in terms of mods before you have to spend really big buck to modify whereas the LT4 will be cheaper to modify in the long run. Other difference is NOTHING and I mean NOTHING compares to the sound of an LT5 at WOT. Going with a ZR1 however has side effects known as permagrin Good luck.

OP, The Zr1 is also quite a bit heavier than an LT4. FYI
As for me, I like zingers more than twinkies.

Are you kidding?
I love my LT1 but even if I had an LT4, I would admit that hands down the LT5 is "King of the hill" for a reason.
I would rather have a ZR1 than any C5. The C6 Z would be another story.
