Another suggestion, if you have some nitrile gloves around or some other gloves to keep your hands dry, it'll make it a lot more pleasant.

I washed my car yesterday and turned the driveway into an ice rink . I usually do what Dale suggested in the winter - bring a bucket and go to one of those car wash bays. It's better than leaving the car covered in road salt.

I use a microfiber wash mit and long rubber gloves with luke warm tap water in a bucket. Hands still get chilly but they are dry. Then I dry it with a microfiber towel. A leaf blower will help get some of the excess water off also. Neighbors will like that I'm sure! Like someone said earlier.....it won't take long you'll be moving fast.

Yeah, I know need to use the blower on the driveway.

I use products like this:

I wash my car in the garage often. Though if your car is salty, I'd rinse it off first either with your hose or at one of those DIY car washes. Just use the non-soap setting and pressure wash the car in one of those bays to get the big stuff off, drive it home into the garage, and wash it as stated above.

It's supposed to be 38-42 degrees this weekend so i'll just go to a car wash place and give it a full spray down. Come home in my garage and probably clay bar it. followed by a good waxing.

I wouldn't clay or wax the paint if all you did was give it a spray down. The paint will still be dirty.

I have used this stuff for several years now:

http://www.dwgint.com/2007/home.shtml?default=

I use it on the plane mostly, cleans the oil off of the bottom and takes the bugs off the leading edges. On the car, sometimes I used a bucket and hose, but usually just use the Dri Wash. If the car is salty, I hose it off first or use a spray bottle and towels.

I have not tried this stuff but it looks similar:

38*~45* temps, hell, hot water wash and garage dry. 7.4gpm hotwater on demand (tankless) and heated garage makes for a nicely detailed car.......oops almost forgot the beer!
