you got that right, i'll add "dumb" in front of "azz". another way of saying some people have more money than brains. and rogers, on the whole, is right there to corner that market and cater to that very crowd.
as for clowns like craig jackson (of barret-jackson), i don't like the SOB, for what he is and what he represents, as a matter of fact the ***** should be in jail.

All barret jackson does is raise the IDEA of what a car is worth to the level of most of the morons that go there to buy cars.
Hence why no normal person can buy an old Mopar now.
I have a feeling I will never see another GTO, cuda, charger, etc. on the road again in my life.

$80k for a GS is f'kin absurd, but if someone is stupid enough to pay it, then let them.
Since when? If someone pays that much money for one, then they've obviously got more money than brains. What's the saying...........There's a sucker born every minute.

GS owner and C6 owner too
I have a low mileage GS coupe and love the car. It is my 3rd Grand Sport (another coupe and a vert). I am amazed how many people have asked to buy this car and offer good money for it. I just don't want to part with it. Don't under estimate the value of these cars and think you're going to buy 7000 mile convertibles for $30k.
I also own a '07 C6, but love to drive the GS more. The LT4 has great low end torque and pulls hard to the red line.
Plus, I wave at all vettes, whether I'm in the GS or the C6. Very rarely do I get a return wave from any generation though.

Well, If Christies can get a 1/2 a million dollars for a model space ship that doesnt even fly....[Star Trek], then i guess $80,000 for something that actually works isnt where no man has gone before.

Chances are cars like that go into Collections. I have seen garages that look like new car showrooms, some people drop Hundreds of Thousands on large yachts, some have car collections. That Vette is no longer just a car, it's a show piece. No different than they Mint coins kept in wrappers, not money, just a show piece.

that's really the point, people who have that kind of dough don't need to look at the price and don't care. It's the same w/ barret et all. people that are bidding are obvously not put off by dropping 200k on a car.
The only thing I don't like is, then the market gets shot up there and I can't afford any of them. If you think thats a travesty, look at the guitar market. In 1957' a flame top les paul sold for approx. 200., now they are going for $450,000. 00, and people buy them.

I'm a big Vette fan, but 82 large for a C4, never. I thing the ZR1 is a much better car, still not paying 82 large. You could get a new Z06 for that, and have plenty of gas money left over.

I saw a TV show on the French Riviera years ago. An Older Gentleman was siting along side the canal and was being interviewed, a large Motor Yacht went by. He said it was his, it cost $20,000.00 to go up and back(Fuel and crew). He had it go by every day, just to see it go by. He was asked how much it cost for a vacation. He said if you go into a jewelry store and have to ask how much a diamond ring is before you buy it, stay home.
Some people have more money then they can spend, $80,000.00 is MONTHLY income to some, some take years to make it. BUT you have to agree, the collector car market has shifted from the old Studebaker's and Dusenberg's to American Muscle. I just hope people start paying that kind of money for Ruby Cars, then I can cash in before reality strikes!

The more the world changes the more it stays the same! Those with the gold set the values according to what they value. Those who don't have the gold just watch or hunt very hard for a good deal! Doesn't matter if it's a fast horse or a fast muscle car!! JMHO
