Would you stay away from color changed cars?

A color change is very expensive.
I would wonder why someone would go thru that expense.
I would wonder if maybe the car was in a major accident. And because it needed so much bodywork, it might as well ge a color change.
Just the way I think

I think the black rose color was developed for women, personally it is my least favorite vette color and would want any color but...so yellow is better IMHO...

From what you posted its a crappy paint job, You can see yellow on the edges of the rubber trims, in the door jams you can see black, and im sure every chip will be black...
If your not a picky person and want a hacked vette then get it.
PS when you open the hood and hatch I bet you will se a lot of black

If its already your favorite color then i'd get it. My '85 was originally black but the first owner had it repainted Quasar Metallic blue which is my favorite color.

The respray looks alright.... I looked at this overspary and it looks like a rug dye-job gone wrong.... any ways 9g's looks way over priced for this car... Go lower like 5 or 6 and for god sakes look at it in person a picture can hide a ton of imperfections not to mension things can be photoshoped out.

I think this car is a mess. There is black overspray everywhere. At first I thought it was just on the door sills and rockers but it is everywhere. I think when you take a closer look, you will find the paint is a real mess too. I think you can find a lot better car. Keep looking

run, don't walk away.
that car has been rode hard and put up wet. The paint looks like a quicky Maaco job.
As for a colour change? In general, I don't care. Just make sure it was done right. It might "lower the value" but that's all relative. We seem to delude ourselves that these are some high dollar collectables, they are simply used cars with a bit of history... bfd. colour won't effect jack, unless you are talking about one of the uber-rare models... Callaway, ZR1, Pace Car, CE, Anniversary, yea, general coupe? nope.

If it was done right I would not worry about a color change.
I dream of changing mine into a 1988 Grand Sport sometimes.
All the same, if I had 2 identical cars in shape, one color changed and the other not..........both cars my favorite color "at present time", then of course I would pick the car without the color change.

It all comes down to the way it was done. Looking in the door jam you cane see the old paint coming through.
Mine was completeley disassembled to acheive the color change.

That yellow looks sharp! Don't let that scare you away from a sale.
I had a 70's trans am that was originally doo-doo brown, but the previous owner had it painted a beautiful blue color that I fell in love with and bought. The color was one of the reasons I bought it.
Don't buy a car for resale value, its just a dumb thing to do. Your return investment would only come back if you garaged it it's entire life and waited like 30 years. There are WAY better returns in stocks or something.

Well, maybe not a "good investment" to some, but a C-4 bought right and maintained will usually get your money back when you sell it, ie. FREE CAR! That assumes average car and average wear. Does that mean don't mod it to your hearts content? OF COURSE NOT. Some people spend hundreds of dollars on concert tickets and consider it a good investment! (obviously if they didn't, they wouldn't do it!) Usage and enjoyment are as much a benefit as resale!

When you think about it, $9k for a 20 year old car is a lot of money.
