Default I proved to myself that I'm a terrible photographer.

I washed my car today and took her for a little photoshoot, and failed miserably.

I'm no photographer or anything but the first pic looks good. The others look like you had set your exposure on too long, maybe the camera automaticaly did that to compensate for the darkness. I would say your best bet would be to use a tripod.

Night time photography is never easy.

But you've got a sharp C4 and that's all that really matters.

Am I suffering from a hang-over, or what??

Nice try anyway.

The biggest problem I see is a lack of a steady shooting platform. Your exposures are between 1/3 and 1/2 second without flash, and you just can't hand-hold a camera steady for that long. If you have a tripod, use it. Otherwise, put the camera on a steady surface (maybe use a beanbag under it) and use the self timer after you have composed the picture. I don't know if the Fuji A345 has manual controls, but if you can increase the ISO setting that will help. You're also shooting wide open at f2.8, so focus becomes a bit more critical. Keep trying.

BTW, I really like your 5th shot -- the one of the CORVETTE letters on the rear of the car.

Default I proved to myself that I'm a terrible photographer.

Not only proved to yourself, but proved it to us as well.

Don't worry about it. With most of us, if we take a good picture, it's purely by accident.

I appreciate you taking time and giving me these hints. The camera doesn't have manual adjustments (not that I know of at the very least), and I wasn't using a tripod. I will be having a photographer shoot my car soon.

The 5th shot probably came out good out of pure luck! LOL

Those overhead lights is probably the reason for the yellow hue to the shots. Film speed ASA should have been 800 or higher. Try again on a nice bright sunny day. Night shots are difficult.

Black is really hard to do at night.

You need to basically catch as many reflections in the paint as possible and focus on that.

What type of camera? I think Sony's are the easiest to do night shots with. You need to set the camera on something, or the long exposure will make it blurry.

I just bought a new 6 megapixel digital camera, I can't wait to shoot the vette with some nice scenery this year. All the photos I have of her were taken with a 2 megapixel camera, they're just too grainy.

I am no photographer either, I just play one on TV...
the car looks good! There are some real good photo guys in CFOT. I belive his name is son93ls1 is real sharp. You may want to post a thread there to see if some of those guys can help you out. Just make sure you wear your flame suit...they can be rough over there at times!
