I checked this out on my 92. I tried pushing the square button in as described in earlier posts, but it did not seem to want to move. Since I don't wan't to break something, how much force should be required to push that button? Does it toggle down on the one side?

I had to push it using a screwdriver. My fingers weren't strong enough to push it the first time. After the first time, it was easier.

It's used during the adjustment procedure. It is installed through two holes in the adjuster. This is from the 92 FSM don't know about the later years.

Its in the '94 FSM also. I think it might be required if there is too much slack in the cable and can't be adjusted out as has been stated in this thread, a major adjustment.

I just purchased a '95 from the original owner. Trying to track down why the cruise control is not working and why I didn't have the power I thought I should, I found the throttle is not going to WOT. My search lead me to this thread. There seemed to be some confusion on what cable a '95 should have. Here is a picture from further up in this thread (Not my car):

Now here is a picture of my car:

Notice my car does not have a transmission kick down cable (someone in one of these threads confirmed the '95's did not use a TVS cable.), but the cable going to my throttle appears to be the same as the transmission cable shown in the other photo. Can anyone confirm if their '95 uses this same cable (has a lever not a button). I am not able to find any way to make an adjustment with this cable. Could someone have installed the wrong cable? It did have head gaskets put on it about 9 months ago, so it was torn down.

BTW, Thanks for the great site. It already saved me $500 by cleaning the climate control button contacts, as described in another thread, instead of having the control head replaced.

This is an old thread and I am having problems with my throttle as well. It seems the TV cable is bottoming out and stopping my throttle from going WOT and if I adjust the TV cable the way the book says it gives me more throttle but the TV cable lever at the transmission is a 1/4 inch away from the plunger and it is supposed to be touching it or it will burn out the tranny. So My question is has onyone had this problem with a 92 ASR unit? I know how to adjust alol the cables but the tv cable seems to be either too short or the throw is off somehow and it is limiting my throttle big time.
