Fire!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!
I was pulling into my yard and my buddy was behind me he started honking his horn and yelling your car is on fire, I got out and he had the water hose and started spraying under my car on the passenger side for a total of about a minute to get the flames out....I will let yall know the damage tomorrow....Cross your fingers for me.....Thanks Don

Passenger side ... sounds like transmission fluid on the hot exhaust. My ex '91 C4 caught fire this way. That happened at a speed of 50 mph and the original reason was the leaking dip stick gasket. The fire burnt a hole into the tranny tunnel ... the dry powder and water made me parting out the Vette. The fire burnt only one or two minutes

Be sure to look at the fuel line where it goes from metal to rubber and back to metal at the front corner of the engine on the passenger side. I almost lost my former '85 when mine decided to spring a leak at the crimp or no apparent reason spewing gas all over the header. Luckely it was first thing in the morning and the exhaust was not yet hot.
First thing I do when I buy a C4 now is replace the pressure line from the filter to the fuel rail and the return line from the banjo fitting next to the filter to the fuel rail with aeroquip braided stainless with proper fittings. A couple of hundred bucks but it's stronger than any standard line which is now 20+ years old on some cars and crimped rubber/metal fittings only last so long.
Glad you saved yours!
