Had my intake powder coated / question (pics)
I picked my intake up today from East Coast Powder Coat. It looks great. Although I have a question. The last photo here shows the interior of the intake runners, there is some overspray of powdercoat in the runners; will this hurt anything?
Thanks
Thanks

Not sure if it will hurt anything. I'm not sure how it could to be honest with you but you could always strip it off. But damn, that intake looks incredible.

It won't hurt anything, I have refinished everything on my engine except the exhaust manifold covers. There was a little over-spray here, and there, but it isn't noticeable on mine because I used the factory color. You will love this stuff, it is extremely durable....

It won't hurt, same goes for valve covers, but you should wash it down and "chase"all threaded holes (w/a tap or thread chaser)before installing. You can either use a dishwasher, some mineral spirits and rags or a big ultrasonic cleaner.

I'd like to do the AC and Alternator Brackets, and some other small stuff like you have done. but that can get pricey. My intake was $130 or so. I have had other things done by East Coast Powder Coat and they are great people to work with.
If I had another car as a DD I'd just pull the whole motor and start from the ground up, but that's just not in the cards right now.

how much of a job was it to remove and reinstall the intake? I have a 93 I would like to do that to. Did I read correct, it cost about 130.00 to powder coat that intake?

CAUTION. Improper application of the powder coat can result in terminal damage of your LT5 parts. Some of these are very expensive. Cam Covers, for instance, come only when attached to the $5,000 cylinder head. There are also a variety of types of powder coat with some being more suitable for engine compartment use. Be sure you use a facility very familiar with this type of work.
Don't know myself, but you might want to check it out
