Default Post heater core R&R questions

Yes, I had to take half the dash apart. Yes, it sucked. Yes, my back is killing me.

Can anyone tell me what this wiring connector goes to? I found it hanging down in the passenger foot well next to the transmission tunnel. I think I found the other wire but how do they connect to this thing? They seem to just press in.

My speaker covers seem to be blue and not black like the rest of the interior. Do these fade from the sun or were these off color replacements?

Thanks,
Jeff

Not sure where it came from but it's a vacuum connection, not wiring. I didn't see anything like it when I did my heater core but maybe someone else did when they did theirs.

Yeah, that's definitely a vacuum line. I think that the "coupler" is used to connect the vacuum lines and is pressed into a trim hole with the little tree.

As for your speaker cover fabric... they will change to a bluish hint over time. They should be black. Mine is the same way from being beat down by the sun over the course of its life.

Default Yes and No

Yes it is a vacuum connector, No I did not see one when I did mine a few weeks ago either. Try all your dash controls and see what does not work anymore, that should tell you what it goes to???

......it really does not got to anything, believe it or not. i have the same "connector" in my 88 and i believe it is for an "option" not installed.

........i have mine with 2 vac lines that, for the most part, terminate at or to this clip. i have no vac leaks and everything works fine. i would have posted some picts but, felt that maybe they are not nesesary.....
