Polished, to my knowledge, is the aluminum wheel put into a process of actuall "polishing" the aluminum to a bright (and sometimes almost mirror finish). The process can be hand done or utilizing media to some limited extent (this I've heard; I've never seen it).
Generally, polished is less involved and therefore less expensive. And it may not last as long either, esp. without frequent attention to maintaining its look. Chrome, howver, can also damage, tarnish, bubble, etc., but it's supposed to be not only a brighter look, but a durable one, too.

Now, you have a red car, chrome looks very sharp on that color.
(more eye appeal than the gray, but the polished is very close in dazzleness- just my opinion)
Buy some wheels and post some pics, will ya??

At the begining of spring, I give them a coat of MOTHER'S Mag and Aluminum Polish to get the winter storage gunk off.

I went with the AFS Chrome as well, and am very happy I went with 9.5's up front and 11's with 315's on the rear...sometimes I sit there and just stare at them Neighbors probably think I'm crazyI can't help it, it's like a beautiful women that doesn't talk back
Here's a rear view with the big 315's
Post some pics when you bolt them on

If ya ask me, the choices are chrome, chrome or chrome. Only thing I dislike more than painted wheels are spinners. And I'm glad to see no one's put them on a vette!

I'll put it to you in simple terms.
Painted - Easy to maintain and if you rub a curb, it won't be the end of the world.
Polished - similar look to chrome but not quite as shiny. These will require some handwork and polishing to keep them looking good.
Chrome - Shiny, expensive process and often no warranty - some will do a 1 year warranty - I've seen others say a 3 year warranty. Any chip or pit whatsoever will cause the rim's chrome to start peeling. You also should always keep a fresh coat of wax on your rims. Chrome rims will have very little resale value after you are done with them. If you live up north and are going be around salt, i would advise against them.
I have painted on my driver Corvette and Chrome on my ZR-1. I've had them 4 years with no problem but then again, I drive the ZR-1 limited miles and it gets cleaned before I put back into the garage.
Color plays another factor. Red and black seem to do well with chrome - other colors don't looks so good
hope this helps

I vote for polished. Chrome looks nice but will flake and rust. If you have dogs in the neighborhood and leave the car out...dog ****, over time, will rust chrome. The polished is hard to maintain but look like chrome when polished good. The painted looks plain, but is easy to maintain and looks good on most color vettes. Your call.

I have also owned both polished and chrome. Polished may last much longer but chrome will be much much easier to keep up. I have chrome saw blades on now. I will be buying the chrome ZR1's real soon. All you have to do is spray on some cleaner and hose it off and they shine extremly well. Polished rims will take hours of polishing to get a similar effect. It's close put still not as bright. I don't always have that much time to clean it plus I'd rather be cleaning the rest of the car, like the engine bay. So to me it's worth it to spen $700+ every 4 or 5 years to have new rims. At about that time I'm usually wanting a new look anyways. Plus if it's a daily drive even polished will take a beating from curbs or rocks after a while.
