good luck with it. these cars were made to be driven and enjoyed. my last corvette (an 86 medium brown metallic convertible with decals installed) had 255,000 on it with the original motor when i drove it from nj to fla and sold it to my brother.

I bought my '94 ragtop two years ago when it had only 19,100 miles on it. I too was somewhat reluctant to pile on the miles at first, but I got over it and I'm damned glad I did. I would have missed out on a lot of great experiences if I'd kept that mindset about it.
My car now has ~36k miles on it, and I've enjoyed to the fullest every mile I've driven it. I've now driven it in ten of the fifty states, with the biggest adventure so far being a 15-day road trip to Ft Meyers and Key West in March of 2006. I wouldn't trade the memories for all of the tea in China.
Presumably, you bought the car to enjoy. Somebody else preserved it for you, and you were able to acquire it for pennies on the dollar. Their loss is your gain, but the car will very likely continue to depreciate for a while even if you keep it in a cocoon.
Unless you're planning to start your own automotive muesum, don't hesistate to drive the car anytime you want to, simply because you are worried about piling the miles on it. Where Corvette ownership is concerned, it comes down to very simple arithmetic: Miles = Smiles.
I encourage you to make the most of this opportunity, and I can almost promise you that you'll end up with no regrets if you do so.
Tomorrow isn't guaranteed to any of us, and to borrow a line from a Don Henley song, "They don't make no hearses with no luggage racks."
Be well,
