Front license plates on Vettes, do you have one or not?

........same as c4cruiser....i live in the 7 lakes area west of marysville, wash.......i have my front plate on because i do not want to be bothered.....and it looks fine to me......

An officer cannot ticket you for not haveing a front plate in his state if your state does not require one. I think, but am not positive, that they can't give you a ticket even if your state does require one. I live in CT, but 99% of my driving is in Mass, so if a Mass officer gives me a ticket, I will challenge it. I do have my plate on the car, it is under the cover, I had to trim the plate a little to make it fit, but it is under there. I figure I will try the line that I had it on to go to a show and fogot to take it off. In the meantime though, no front plate for me!!

I have seen just one front plate on a Corvette. it was on a 1958.
Saw a Corvette club hanging out. Must have been 40 cars there. Not one had one. Took my car to a Mechanic that specializes in Corvettes two days ago.. Had 8 or 9 cars being worked on. Not one had a front plate. Two of them had a Super Ram( I think that is what you call them) where the front plate was suppose to be.
Every high performance cars in my area (that i seen) do not have a front plate. The police are everywhere in my town too. Twice at the mall parking lot I had a police car park next to my vette and nothing happened.
In California CVC 5200 should be abolished.

front plate
I don't run a front plate, looks like sh*t. If you get stopped take the ticket(don't say NOTHING) go right to DMV and have a friend turn in your front plate to desk saying he found in road. Then walk right in after friend turns in plate and explain you are looking for your "lost front plate".Before you leave ask for note saying you picked up your "lost plate at DMV dated". Go to court and ticket will be dismissed, works for me.The cool cops will not bother you(they know there are more important thing they have to do) with front plate missing , the jerk cops will (waste of taxpayers time).Watch his face in court as ticket is dimissed LMAO ! I was not a member, just a lurker back then...
But yes my front plate is on... BOB JR veteran plate on the vert... I live in Cali and drive rods... I do not need a reason for them to want to pull my azz over...

No plate required in KY, where the Corvette is made. I guess that explains why they have that nice looking cover over the area where the plate would normally mount.

Mine has one...it came that way. I think it's required in OR anyway, but I see a lot of vettes around without. If mine didn't have it I'd leave it off untill a cop pulled me over and said I had to have it.

I am supposed to have one here in texas, but hell no! not happening. I keep it under my passenger side floormat and slap it up on the dash by the windsheild if i get pulled over. Worked so far

Utah requires one, as do the (military) bases, but I don't have one on. I was stopped years ago coming on base and they wouldn't let me on without one (had my wife bring it to me), since then I carry it in my storage compartment just in case. But haven't been stopped since, nor have I ever been stopped by a cop for not having one

They are required here in California, but I went 6 years without one on my 77 and so far 5 months on the 96. It seems that the police don't consider this a priority. Has anyone in California had trouble with the police?

No plate for me, gotten 2 warnings for it. After the second I drove around with it for about a month then took it off. Looks terrible with a front plate.
