Default C4 with a hitch?

Passed a C4 today and he was towing a boat. I was thinking....what a discrace. Yeah the car has toque but WTF. It also looked like the cars paint and shine had fadded long ago. I kept driving shaking my head

a disgrace would be a perfectly good one not being driven because they are worried about value or scratching or getting it wet/dirty at least he was out driving it and using it maybe not as is thought ideal for these cars but the dude is enjoying it

so what the paint is faded, mine has been completely lacking of clear coat for at leas 5 years as best i can tell and i don't really care. yeah paint would be nice but i'm driving the shiznit out of it

sorry for the

Thats ok, rant on. I had a camaro that had a jacked paint job. Its just sad to see one that is in bad shape pulling something that would have paid for the paint. I guess he made a choice between paint and a boat

I was out and towed my 32ft Searay down to Lake Lanier today. But no one ever said my paint was faded before. Here's a very recent picture of my coupe, unfortunately I never took a picture of it with the boat trailer attached. It was a great day on the lake, left the boat at the marina, planning on going out again tomorrow.

What yo doin' haulin an Ocean liner, dude????

Trailer hitch on a vette is akin to the third row seat on a Yugo.

(Just my opinion, I got a Blazer for towing)

I'm 70 yrs old & tow my ultra-lite airplane behind my Vette . I'm faded & could use a new clear coat myself . I pass gas ,slurp my soup ,suck my teeth & have a trailer hitch on my Vette. It's an old CAR ,I'm an old man , we're made for each other. I'm glad I can still hitch up & travel in style.

I'm not sure what the big deal is about towing with a vette. If i needed to, I wouldn't have any problem towing something with my vette. But then again, I would never consider putting a hitch on my vette in the first place.

Hey, What is wrong with a trailer? I am searching like mad for a trailer to match my car (87 with 91bumpers) so that i can haul all the stuff i want for shows...I'll be sent straight to $#!! before i will put mine on a trailer with-out a good reason. But i live on the edge of desert land and need things like a good shade source, chairs, cooler, cleaning supplies, etc. for all day shows. Since all the a___retentive judges go point slashing if you even dare to leave the insurance and registration in the car a trailer seems like a very good solution. Pluss i can hide my beer and stuff in it and the cops can't find any reason to look in there! But i admit that I want my triler to match my Vette...But I realy wish i could afford (and find!) a Corvette boat to haul behind it! What could be cooler than an LT1 speed boat behind my L98? I guess you have to look at it from all points of veiw... I could see the rich with several cars and suvs looking down on towing with a Vette...But that is why we call most of them snobs.

I own an Eldorado (motor went down 3 weeks ago at 63,000 miles) a 2005 F350 dually (it is sitting at the dealership for it 7th time since 43,000 for a tranny now) and have no way to get the cattamaran to the lake. I am thinking about a reese for my old 93 vert. The old girl HAS NEVER let me down !!! Possibly he is in the same situation. Screw it...mig welder and some 2" STEEL STOCK i AM OFF TO THE GARAGE

What are some of you complaining about? I used to tow my SCCA MG race car with my 86 Z-51 Corvette. When I wasn't racing the MG I'd autocross the Corvette. By the way it was in mint condition. If it has the power and brakes, why not tow with it??

I dunno, it looks cheesy. But it is your car and do with it as you wish. I was just thinking that the frame would not be able to handle towing well over time. Good point on the power and brakes though. I never really thought of it that way.

IDN, Towing some old **** with a poorly maintained Vette seems kinda hillbillyish. I mean The Vette marketing points really don't include the "towing capacity" specs ala "Chevy Built Trucks"

Kinda like trying to Autocross a F350 with a Cummings Diesel. But I guess if you have to use the truck during the week for Mowing grass and you like to autocross.......one could manage

but to each his own
