for y'all with Bose problems
It may have been covered on here before but I've been using the following guy to repair my Bose stuff. Very quick turnaround and pleasant dealings with them. He fixed my CDM and now I need my amps repaired as well. Bad Bose, bad Bose! If it was any other car, I'd have ripped it our and replaced it with another system.

If you've got a Blose, you've got problems. At best, it sounds decent when everything's working properly. Which unfortunately, isn't very often.
Bose: A lot of name, not a lot of audio performance.

Typically, I like Bose for home audio but this is terrible. I have a pair of 901's. But this system does suck. It just doesn't hold up in a car. It's hard to believe they would put their name on something that is so subpar.

I got rid off all the BOSE in my vette when I first got it. Never been a fan of any type of stereo stuff they make. You can get way better for alot cheaper imo.

When I had problems with the CD, I called Bose for some advice. They refered me to GM. Called GM. GM refered me to Bose.
Nobody wanted credit for that system!!!

For me, it just wasn't worth the time and $$ hassle of getting the Bose junk repaired/replaced/exchanged.
I took it out and added Jensen and Blaupunkt components.

That where I am at. Replaced a Speaker now I looking for a used 90-96 rear convertible amp. I guess I want to keep it all original. But as many time I have noted comments to this bose system over the last 5 month on this site. I might have choose on th side of reliability

i've listened to BLOSE home audio speakers over the years, including the 901's, thru the 70's, 80's and 90's. they suck, especially for the price. they live on their name brand. they advertise heavily in men's mangazines and live at strip malls. what does that tell you about a company? old tech, peddled in tacky ways. i hate BLOSE on every level. ripoff artists, old tech, heavy advertising budget, very limited product line for being around for so damn long. Go BLOW, BLOSE.
the BLOSE in our corvettes is worse than an abomination. my BLOSE GOLD is in perfect working order, but acoustically its a SUCKWAD system. the soundstaging is non-existent. it was a SUCKWAD system the day it came out.
i've made it even more obsolete because i can barely hear it over the engine/exhaust, until i crank it up 3/4 of the way. then it just gets in the way of the singing of my engine. in my other '90 i had, it was ripped out on day #2 of car ownership, and smashed with a sledgehammer.

All of us are entitled to our own opinions.
As for Bose advertising in malls and such, they didn't always do that. They relied heavily on their reputation. Their marketting strategy has changed over the years but that's what companies do (try to find a better way to market). It's part of big business. Anyway, I like my 901's and I don't really care what anyone says. It's all about what you are happy with. Some like to keep things original and some modify the crap our of their cars.
