If you had $30,000 to spend, what Corvette would you buy?

I think that you need to be more specific, is it going to be an everyday driver or a pleasure only car?

I agree.
I would go the daily driver route, find a cherry 95 or 96 LT1, blk/blk, spend the rest on few go-fast (and stop fast  ) /look-good parts. :D That probably would not use up all the $30K, so invest the rest for use later

Although I have a '95 for the 30 grand I'd go with a '96 LT4. It probably has the best combination of performance and driveability. With any left over cash I'd think about a few mods. :jester

It would be a ZR-1, no question about it...If I had any left over money I'd get a stingray.

Re: [POLL] If you had $30,000, which Corvette would you buy? (C4 Suke)
One option to consider is to do what I'm doing, and thats creating your own personal version of what a C4 should have been equiped with and looked like by starting with an early C4. When I am finally done with my project, it should be able to compete with the majority of the Supercars in performance, and look great too. And it should fit in and at under $ 30,000... but lets see.
Used early C4 preferrably with a blown tranny or motor so that you can get it cheaper.... $ 5500
New upgrade 91 and later rear end.... $ 1000
New quality paint job, your choice of color $ 3500
New seats & carpet... $ 1500
New weather stripping installed $ 1000
New alternator, starter and battery... $ 400
New suspension including good shocks $ 2000
New quality brakes... $ 1500
New well built 383 with great heads, intake, etc... $ 7000
New rebuilt 90 or later 700R4 - $ 1400
New custom chip... $ 500
New Headers and exhaust .. $ 1200
$ total from above... $ 27,200
Optional:
New nice 5 pt rollbar and 5 pt harnass.... $ 900
New Dana 44 rear end if not already equiped installed $ 1500
New Vigalante torque converter if auto $ 700
New clutch if manual.... $ 1000 ???
Point is for under $ 30,000 you can have a C4 that can beat a Viper down the strip and compete with the Porsches on the road course that will be built to last and built the way you wanted with the color, engine options any body effects that might interest you. And with the refurbishing of items such as the alterantor, battery, suspention, starter, etc... it should be a very realiable vehicle too, and you can truly call it your own creation.
I'm far from being done, I still have a lot of cosmetic issues such as paint, weather stripping, but in another year or two I should be done.
just a thought.

Beach...
I've got to take my hat off to you! :D that's creative thinking. I went throug some serious **** with mine though just getting it to look nice(paint) take the nose off, put it back on, OOPS didn't mean to crack the end of your hood off the VERY FIRST DAY YOUR CAR COMES IN FROM THE BODY SHOP WHO MADE AN EMPTY PROMISE TO HELP RE-ASSEMBLE THE CAR. :D Just a little vent. At least when it went to LPE I didn't see it engineless. I knew it was in PROFESSIONAL hands though...so I'd probably have to have them do it again. If I could find Guys who CARED do the car, I'd do it your way.

A Shark, Best dang looking Corvette ever made (After the 84-89 models). & I would modify the snot out of it (LT5 Motor, Upgraded suspension, Dakota Digi-Dash, Recaro Seats, Custom paint, Greenwood bodykit with the puffed out fenders, etc....).
