I would save an additional 3k for the simple fact that it will open up your options to just about any of the non-special modeled c4's. I've seen some very well kept examples of the LT4 in the non-gs bodies at around 60k miles, go for around 11k with a bit of haggle with the owners. With that said, RIGHT NOW IS THE BEST TIME TO BUY A VETTE. Why? because the market is slllllllooooooooooooowwwwwwwwww in the winter compared to the summer. How do I know? A c5 I was drooling over all summer at 25k just became mine at 17k now that all other offers fell off the face of the planet.

I would save a little more and get a C5
If that is not happening...then get a nice 91
Best of both worlds, a nice LT1 Body\Interior and the simplicity of a L-98
The Optispark is a PIA and you are likely going to mod it anyways...
Also, I would definitely get the 6-spd, no matter how long I had to search and wait. It may cost more time and $ now, but it will save time and $ later....the 700R4 usually gives up every couple of years once you are putting 300rwhp..
