That would be a sweet car for someone to own. Buy it and remove the stupid sticker.

1990 Indy Pace Cars are pretty rare I believe that the total production number was less than 1.

So if there were 80 legitmate cars made, what was thier purpose? and why is there no option listed in the Black book? Was there an option charge on the sticker? Looks like I'm gonna delete the guys smart *** response before I read it. Open mouth, insert foot. Stupid obsure useless pace sticker corvette. Now I have to find an 83 ZR1 convertible automatic on ebay to redeem myself. Wish me luck.

I am guessing they were either parade or festival cars. GM would have had to provide support vehicles. I am imagine there are trucks, too, with those markings.

yup... scary, ain't it.

In all reality, this is a very rare car. It is truly worth a lot more than $5600.00

From the pictures the car looks to be in fantastic shape. It's probably a pretty good bargain.

The issue is that it's not a "pace" car. It's a "festival" car.
But it is a legitimate festival car, and kinda interesting. Learn something new every day.

I own one of the yellow ones. I have all of the paperwork from the Indy Track. Including the track pass, license plate and title showing mine to be #6. I did some research and actually spoke to the Indy Track historian about these cars. He said the teal ones (50 ea) were known as "festival" cars while the yellow ones (30 ea) were known as "track" cars. The yellow ones were given to the crews to use around the track and town. The teal ones were never used for their intended purpose. The whole reason either of these cars were created was that GM contracted with a company to take the Berretta and make a convertible out of it. If I remember right he said they only were able to produce three before race time due to quality control issues. GM then panicked and the "Indy Corvette" was born. I forget what he said replaced the teal festival cars in the parade.

I know some don't like the sticker but I think it makes the car quite unusual and as it was officially issued by GM it is legit. I will say however that I do not like the "CHEVROLET" plastered across the front windshield. Unfortunately that is also ligit and therefore I am leaving it.
I hope this sheds some light on the subject. The term "pace car" the seller is using is incorrect however.
