I used to not like the c4's as I always wanted a c3. but after seeing the one i bought and driving it I fell in love with it. The only thing I dont like is the hump in the door area you have to climb over to get in. Everyone that sees mine likes it.

That's one of the things I like best about my car! Once you manage to slide in it's like the car doesn't want you to leave...

It's not entirely dissimilar to college girls getting in my house - they have to climb over my "hump" at the door for admission.

c4s are boring compared to other styles. it may be classy or however you want to justify the looks, but there isn't much going on. and as your saying most of these people don't have vettes, so they base their opinion on looks, not experience. as for the "most ppl" part of it, I think you're mistaken. most people don't hate c4s.

I was shopping around for a cheap C4 "fixer upper" and actually looked at a few before I found my C3 in the local paper for $2500.....I bargained down to $2200 and drove it home. I'm happy with my purchase.

If it wasn't for that I would be owning a C4 right now and will still have one after I finish my C3.

Hmm, I've felt that way from them in pictures, but in person I think they have a lot going on. It's more subtle and purposeful than the overt coke-bottle shape of the C3. The way the body rolls out at the middle of the door, but in at the bottom, the way the hood looks pretty flat until you look down it, the way the sides look flat until you see the fenders bulge out. I think they look great. Sit in the drivers seat and look down the hood, and then see if you think there isn't a lot going on. The way it rolls away from you, but flares up over the wheels and in the middle.... It's the best view around.

Most people don't realize that a C4 can kick the crap out of 90% of the C3's (except maybe the L88), and have much better handling and gas mileage.

I was all set on buying a C6 vert. I did all the reseach and on the c6 forum everynight. Did not think there was a better looking vette out there until I came across the ZR1. That changed everthing now I own a beautiful 95 blk/blk Z and could not be happier. My freinds don't understand why I would buy a 10 yr. old car until they get in it for the ride of their life.

No contest. I had a '78 L82 C3...but my first drive in a C4 completely blew me away. Much better overall package.

Having said that, I've never run into any "haters" at all...I get nothing but compliments.

I was in the same boat. I was looking for a C3 ( 78 or 82) but couldn't fine one that was good enough to spend money on. Actually, my roommate ( he's own 4 of them) was trying talk me into a C4's at the time. "YOU GOT TO RIDE IN ONE". So I did. Oh buddy.. I like it. I thought it would take a bit to get use to the body style but I realize it had one sexy body. I beleive that dramatic makeover from the C3 to the C4 is what turned people off. But you know it is still a corvette no mater what it looks like...

I have always been hooked on the C4 body style particurly the 91-96 rounder style front and rear bumpers and i love the LT-1 power plant. I have always thought that it is the most beautiful vette made and i still think this. I have always wanted one of my own since i was a sophomore in highschool and my sisters current BF got a brand new polo green/tan interior 6speed coupe in 95. I have always loved the look but it took one test drive a year ago to get me hooked on it and thats when i started shopping.
If people dont like it say its too 80's looking thats their own problem I have never been one to care what people think. I bought the car for me and no one else. By the way I have yet to hear a girl say anything bad about the C4 they always want a ride in it.

I like the fact that I can tell them I only have 250 hp and race a brand new car with 300 "torqueless" hp and absolutely rip them from stoplight to stoplight, from the tree to the end of the track. Bye bye 350Z!

There was one here at the 1/8th mile track today who couldn't break his best ET/mph of 9.70 @ 78. I thought those cars are fast, but 99% of the time it is just the lack of torque

I have....lol anything 73-82 i dont like...... cant stand those eurethane bumpero n them...... I think the 70,71 and 72 are the best lookin vettes ever made....... But i still love my C4.

C4 is a fantastic car. When I get gas in the Vette people want to talk, when I gas up the Bravada no one cares.

Thats because they havn't been in a C5 yet. I've given numerous women rides in both, and have yet to have any decide the C4 is their favorite. Fine with me though, I could care less.
