Default Hard water spots on glass

The 85 I just bought looks ok,but all the glass seems to have some type of water spots( hard water spots?) that won't come off with regular glass cleaner.

What is best to get the glass clean & smooth?

Thanks

Try Bon Ami.

If that doesn't work, and the spots have truly been caused by hard water, try white vinegar.

Be well,

I was haveing the dangs't job trying to get the windshield on my vet cleaned. No mater how hard I tried, it never looked good. Until.......I bought and tried "Stoners Invisible Glass". I can't believe what a good job it did. Comes in an aerosal spray can. Bought it at Wal-Mart for about $5. Give it a try. Geez, I sound like an add for Stoners.

I have the same problem. A guy here said to try glass stove top cleaner. I havn't had much luck with it so far, but its done more than anything else.

I havn't tried stoners.

Medium cut compound that you would buff out your clearcoat after you wet sand it will make you glass spotless. BUT if you dont know how to use a high speed buffer on your paint, DONT do it yourself on the glass...pay someone, should be fairly cheap ($50ish)

Default SoftScrub

I used SoftScrub on my windshield. I used a buffer and it cleaned up great and didn't scratch at all.

I wouldn't call the quote I got from a detail shop cheep. It was $60 all right...per window. Odds are the spots are etched into the glass, not something that can just be cleaned off the surface.

vinegar and a paper towel. wet the towel with the vinegar, let it lay on the glass for a minute or so, then apply a little elbow grease and scrub the window clean.

As mentioned Stoner's is good ( I use it too), but the Bon Ami and vinegar are best for getting all of the crud off the glass

If it's really old, hard water spots then a glass stove top cleaner should work well. I've used this kind of product (can't remember the brand though) in the past and it was the only thing that took the water spots off.
