that torque matters.
When my lightly modified L98 was building about 295 hp at the crank it would pull 1.8x short times and run very low 13s at about 104mph. In fact it would easily beat stock C5s with 40 hp more.
That said, I do like the looks of the NSX but it will never compete with a Vette.

NSXs are pretty cool, they have a great engine and they look good, (the newer ones at least) BUT... they are WAYYYY too expensive for their own good, and their ride is more bone jarring than an early z51 c4.
very quick cars though.

By chance, (free beer) I stopped by the garage where I've been taking all of my vehicles to (except my corvette) for over 20 years. One of the mechanics used to work at a Nissan dealership. He said that as cool as the NSX's are, they have a lot of problems and that they are a PITA to work on. I still like them, but prefer my vette.

Our VP here at work has one. I've always thought the NSX was a cool looking car. Looks kinda exotic. He owned a C5 too, and he says the NSX has a more exotic European feel to it. He said the V6 screaming right behind your head makes it feel like you're in an Indy car.
That said, they eat tires like crazy because the alignment specs are so agressive. He got less than 7k out of his last set, and he doesn't really drive it hard. They are also pretty expensive, considering the performance numbers compared to a Corvette. And they have an all aluminum body, which is VERY expensive to repair.
But it looks like nothing else on the road, and there really aren't that many on the road to begin with.
I parked next to one in the parking lot of SubZone one day, and the owner saw me get out and approached me while I was standing in line at the counter. He asked me a little about my car, and then told me he used to have a '91 Corvette. He said truth be told, he wished he still had the '91 instead of the NSX. He liked how the Chevy small block responded to relatively minor and inexpensive modifications. The NSX, he found out, was going to cost ridiculous amounts of money to get only a minor increase in performance. So he thought as far as potential performance per dollar goes, the L98 C4 was the way to go...

My dad's H3 baby Hummer 3.5L DOHC inline-5 makes 220 stock N/A hp. Is it a super car??? Just 70 less hp than a 3.2L DOHC V6 of the NSX. Oh, and at a way lower rpm too!
