What paint colors are the easiest to keep clean?
I really could use a paint job because of the fact my Vette is a 40 footer and like to know what colors are easiest to maintain. It was not well painted by the last 2 owners and the paint peels badly! I was thinking of either going for the tough guy sinister look jet black with a triple clear coat or something along the line of Sebring silver like the 96 CE's have. Maybe I can go something wild and unique like candy apple green and/or a 2 tone color1/color2 paint job like a 35th Anniversary or a 96 GS so everyone can recognize me around town. I'm kinda leaning toward the Sebring silver or even a mirror chrome paint job because they won't get as hot under the sun or the jet black because it is probably the easiest paint to get in touch ups for minor blemishes or swirls. Help me make up my mind before next week Monday. Thank you all!

Lighter exteriors are much easier to maintain although they do not shine as well as the darker colors. Silver and white can make good choices. You may want to maintain a good visual contrast too with your interior color.
Best of luck.

White will show industrial fallout within 2 months, so buy a lot of clay if you want to keep the little black specs from showing. Silver seems to do better or something with a little bit of color in it.

I've got a '90 white vette and it's pretty easy to keep clean. But if you live somewhere foggy, white looks so bad.... Ive always wanted Blue, and I think I'm leaning towards Electron blue, but I'm not sure how easy it is to keep clean. Definately not cherry red. Do cops fallow Blue?

I agree, white and silver probably show dust/dirt the least. If you look at "my pictures" the car had been sitting about two weeks after being cleaned when I took these shots.

Usually light colors do best. Here in Colorado Springs my two white cars always look like a$$ since it rains dirt here!
I bet that RED OXIDE primer would hide the Colorado Springs dirty rain marks well.
(I know real Vette enthusiasts don't have this problem since their cars never get wet)

Years ago, I asked a body shop owner what the best color was for a car and his reply was classic: "The color of dirt".
Seriously, the no-commitment, seemingly faded tones that a lot of the newer sedans are painted show less dirt and scratches. So either the silver you mention or a light bronze would do what you are looking for.

White or yellow = good, IMO.
My fiance' and I live 2-1/2 miles off the highway, and in IL crushed limestone passes as "gravel" 'round here. Can we say clouds of gray dust, even at idle in low gear?
Hers is a pearl white 69 vert; mine a black on black '95. Hers...Well, let me put it this way: I grab the air hose and blow off the dust from her car, especially the chrome bumpers, and the dang thing looks clean! Mine is dirty after only a day or two SITTING IN THE GARAGE!
An aquaintance of mine has a yellow C5. That car can be filthy too and it looks good from 10 feet. A yellow w/ black interior would be my choice next time. It might not be as good a pearl white, but yellow = wow! IMO.
I suppose you could drive by some car lots before the cars get their daily bath and see what colors show dirt and which ones don't. (Just a thought! )

Red is the only color that looks good even when dirty.
Yellow is a nice color but due to the nature of the pigment, it does attract bugs. It also shows dirt. First C4 I ever drove was yellow and notorious for this.
If you stay middle of the road in color (not too dark, not too light) you should be fine.

I don't understand the attraction of sliver. That's an overused color even on pickups.
All Corvettes are Red, the rest are mistakes!

My silver ce doesn't show the dirt much. It is an understated color though, doesn't turn many heads. The black is a difficult color to paint and clean, it shows all the imperfections and swirl marks. I haven't ever seen a swirl mark in mine, and i'm definately not a perfect detailer.
