Default Kwik Lift Owners Please Step Inside

What is the method you use to put the lift on the casters? The instructions state that you drive up onto the lift and then jack up each front support and slide the caster assembly under each support. Then raise the rear using the lift tube and slide the rear casters under each support. The rear is no problem. I'm having difficulty jacking up the front supports. How do you guys do it? I was toying with the idea of placing the front casters under the supports and then drive up onto the lift but I was afraid that the lift would slide forward. My other thought was to jack up the entire front by lifting on the cross member but I wasn't sure the cross member would take the load in that direction just held on by the bolts. Thanks for any help and advice.

I put the castors under the front stands and drive up on it that way. Don't have any problems, just have to go slow and don't slam on the brakes.

I just got off the phone with Dan at Kwik Lift and he suggested this method as well. He did say to use a thin rubber mat under both rear sections to prevent the lift from sliding forward. Once most of the weight of the car is up on the lift, it's not going anywhere. I'll try this method tonight and post my results. Thanks for the input.
