A NEAR gone corvette; never could I do it!
The sale of my vette was ALMOST final today. He even showed me the $10k in CASH, and I had the GUTS to say "No sir, now that I've done some long and hard thinking, this is my ultimate dream car, this is what I've always wanted; and for this I can not let it slip away."
Long Live the 87 Z52!

I think what did it is, I realized I would be HARD PRESSED to find another original owner car with as much documentation as this car has.

Wow... someone was offering you $10k for a car with a buck 29 on the heartbeat??? Dayum!!! I agree with you though. It's always harder to sell something you have acquired such an emotional attachment for. Congrats on keeping the love alive.

I couldn't agree more with you on your choice. I had my mind made up ready to sell it this spring. Then, I took it out for a ride, looked it over and just decided the car meant too much to me.
Good luck,

Hmmm,
I understand the emotion of keeping your C4. That's why mine is not for sale..... but your post raises a couple of questions...
Had you agreed on the price and on the sale and you backed out of a verbal contract?- or -was he just coming to look at it and flashed the wad of cash but you had not yet agreed on a deal?
I'd be more that a bit annoyed if I was the buyer and had gone to close a deal with cash in hand and the seller backed out.... I'd be asking fulfillment of the contract or for 5% of the agreed price as compensation for voiding a legal contract....

Did you already agree to sell the car to the guy. If so, that was really lame, wrong, and just plain RUDE to have the man go through all that trouble and get $10k in cash and then wait for him to get to you're place just to say, "you know what, I changed my mind". If anyone did that to me I would be furious and would definently make sure something was done for compensation...especially when the car is barely worth half that.

No real AGREEMENT or anything, just kinda shop talk between two guys.
Like someone said before, never sell a car to someone you work with...once he pulled the 'Put this and that on it" I knew that if I sold it to him, it would never end.
