Default C4 guy jumping ship?

Drove the vette to the local dealer to get some hose for filling my trans this weekend.

They had just gotten in two C6s, one silver and one yellow.

There was a couple there tonight looking at the yellow one. They were driving a yellow vert, looked like a 93-ish.

A friend of mine is a salesman there. He stopped me and said "why don't you just make it easy on us, they are thinking of trading their yellow C4 for a yellow C6, you could trade your silver C4 for a silver C6."

Car for car, in a heart beat. Car and $30K for car, no thanks.

Car salesmen always have a great idea about how to put you in some car and part your money from you in the process. Even if they are friends....

If you could talk them down a couple grand to your car + 28K, then if they would accept a GM In The Driveway certificate which is worth about 6K off the price, then it'd be your car + 22K and that wouldn't be too bad of a deal on a spankin new, never-farted-in, never flogged (yet...) C6.

There's a forum member that can set you up with a GM in the driveway certificate, but I can't remember his handle.

I'd go for that if I have the opportunity.

Buying a car can be a real hassle..........I just bought a Toyota Matrix.....talked to owner of Metro Toyota in Cleveland who gave me his ABSOLUTE best deal......the following week I bought the same car in Brunswick for $2500 less!!!!

My LT4 same thing.......it was about the 4th visit......salesman finally did a deal.......my 89 Vette went out the door less than 2hours after I traded it in......

Anyhow hang in there, you will find the right deal if you are patient.........then again if you put even half of $30k in your LT4.....hmmmm

Forget the C6, grab the Yellow Vert from that couple. You could get it for a great price and they'd still get more than the dealer would give them.

That's the spirit! I'd love to get a ride in that car, BTW, at a future GTG...

Care to mail me some seeds to a money tree?

If I wasn't pumping my sons college fund and 401K, that would be pretty doable.

Dang you! Are you trying to tempt me to leave the C4 family?!

I'd do it.

C4 vs C6? There is no comparison. C6 wins on performance, comfort, and looks, imho.

No argument. That's why I'd do it car for car. I just don't have or want to spend another $30K right now.

True enough.
But C4 + $40K vs. C6?

That's a no-brainer....the C4 and the money wins.
