Default Chip or new ECU

I can't find the thread now but I saw where some were going to a newer ('96) ECU on L98's instead of burning chips. Got a '90 L98 with 383, AFR heads, mini-ram intake, mild cam and ATI supercharger. Any ideas?

Sorry but Zelement is correct, you can't use a 94 and later PCM on your L98. Those engines use an Opti-Spark ignition system so unless you are one of the few that can adapt the internals from an Opti into a HEI distributor you will have a major problem making one of those PCMs to work in your car. There is nothing wrong with the ECM that you are using now, it just needs tuning to work correctly. With the proper tools you can do that yourself.

There are some Real Time tuners available now that will help limit the amount of chips to burn. Tuner cat has one and I think Craig Moates has one as well. Maybe there is others. Good luck!
