Default Should i wait (And completely bleed) my nitrous bottle before refilling?

We all know nitrous has a stronger hit when you have a full bottle. Especially considering most systems spray the same amount of fuel regardless of whether you are at 600 psi or 1200 psi.

With this said, do you guys run your bottles to emptiness and then refill, or do you wait until you are about 3/4's out of nitrous....Or do you wait until all the liquid nitrous is gone (maybe by weighing the bottle?)

What determines when you refill your bottle?

Also, do you guys bleed the bottle of any remaining nitrous-gasses before refilling?

Im just curious.

What system doesn't spray the same amount of fuel? A bottle warmer will keep you much closer to the sweet spot no matter low you are.

You don't have to purge the bottle to fill it.

dizwiz,

Check out this months Hot Rod magazine, there is a short article covering this very subject. Their bottle was around half full and the results were dramatic, even with a heater.

interesting....thanks!

in response to your ques Scorp, the ZEX system supposedly regulates the fuel flow based on your bottle pressure....

dont know how well it works...

I can feel surging sometimes with as much as 4lbs of nitrous still in the bottle. Temp makes a huge difference though. I usually have a pretty good "feeling" about how much I've used and when I need to refill. I also have two bottles, so I just change one out if I think I've used a good portion of it. If I'm out on the street, you can bet my bottle is full enough to make at least 2 good runs, probably more. I've usually made my point by then! Good luck!
