Looking for a good cam for my 6psi procharged L98. Mods are: mildly ported D-port aluminium heads, modified LT1 intake, hooker headers and some other small stuff.
I'm looking at this COMP roller cam: (CCA-08-306-8)
* Advertised duration: 290 intake/307 exhaust
* Duration at .050 in. cam lift: 230 intake/244 exhaust
* Gross valve lift: .510 in. intake/.540 in. exhaust
* Lobe separation: 112 degrees
* RPM range: 2,000 to 6,000
* Good in factory roller cam engines with TPI
* Modified computer, intake plenum, intake runners, and 2,500 stall
I'm sure it's a good N/A cam, but will it work good under boost?
Really appreciate your comments and thoughts!
(Emission is not a problem, just looking for performance)
That is the tried and true CC 306 grind. It is very lumpy and in my opinion wound not be a good blower grind. A better cam would be a LPE/Accel blower cam part number 74220, it has 215/220 duration at .050 on a 114 LSA. Lift is .530/.530 with 1.6 rockers. With the CC306 cam you would bleed a lot of your static compression away, not to mention the problem of tuning it to run right will be a PITA.
The LPE 74220 would be my choice with your combination as it is or a similar Comp grind.
It didn't work on swedish, who would have known... I was trying too tell you too search the archives this subjekt has been discussed before on this forum...
:)
