Default Blower vs MAF?

How does a Procharger Supercharger tie in to the intake system with the Mass Airflow Sensor taken into consideration? And, how is the additional fuel supplied? This is on an 88 C4...

Carrol's Vortech kits blow through, Vortech pulls through, but I don't know about Procharger. I believe(some one will chime in and probably correct me) the best way is to blow through( Maf between s/c and tb).

Blowing through the MAF equates to better WOT performance (assuming the ECM can sample fast enough), but it can be tricky to make idle well. Draw through idles well, but requires a better tune for WOT performance.

Most MAF systems will have the MAF Sensor placed between the blower intake and teh air filter. Also there has to be a bypass valve plumbed in to releive compressor surge when the engine is decellerating from a high speed. This bypass when a MAF is used has to be located between the MAF and the blower intake. As this is air that is already been measured by the MAF sensor.

I don't really think it matters which location that the MAF will be located in. Either way the air volume or mass will be measured either at the suction or at the discharge it will be the same.

For fuel enrichment, most blower systems vendors tend to use a FMU. Or what is commonly known as a Fuel Management Unit. This device is connected in series with the fuel return line to the OEM pressure regulator. And usually it has a ratio of 10:1 which means that for every pound of boost pressure the FMU will raise the fuel pressure 10 PSI. While this system works for most stock applications with low boost of 6 or 8 PSI. The better way is to map the fuel enrichment in the PCM. Which would take either a custom program or a person purchases his own tuning software and does it himself. The best way is to map the fuel curves on a chassis dyno where real time data can be analyzed to make the correct fuel map changes.
