You should nerver run 8:5 c/r on the 383LT1 motor that is running NA. The c/r is at least should be keep it at 11:1. And yes any 383ci LT1 stroker will absolutely destroy a stock ZR1. Sorry "KING" :)

Bruce, He has plans of installing a supercharger.

Sultan,

The hot cam kit is not a scam by any means. The Hot cam will make at least 400 flywheel hp with a mildly ported LT-1 heads. I used to run the Hot cam kit with AFR 195 heads and with an auto it put out 367rwhp.

I personally wouldn't use the hot cam with the 383 supercharged setup, but that's just me.

And yes, your friend don't even need a supercharger to dethrone the King, a 383 alone would do the job.

Comp Cams 218/230 @.05 .555..lift 114 is a very good choose and make good power. It almost like the hot cam but it a blower grind.

The cam that I am running with my 377 supercharged/nitrous is 236I/248E .571/.587 lift with 114LSA. It is a pretty radical cam, not very streetable. I am not sure what kind of results your buddy is looking for but if he wants a good streetable cam that will make good power with the blower I would say the CC305 cam.

I am not a cam expert by any means but I did do a lot of research and I am really happy with the results I got with my cam. If your friend is serious, he should do a lot of research as well.
