Default blown small block combos??

hello all,
i am looking for some blown small block combos that work well in C4's. a friend of mine is looking at building a 350 or 383 with a 671 set-up. he is kind of on a budget and wants around 600 hp. i don't know jack about forced induction. if you can help me out with some combos that would be awesome. at this time he is looking to go carbed and maybe up grade to EFI next year, and best of all emissions is not an issue. thanks for the help in advance! Brian

Unfortunately, very few use roots style blowers on C4's due to the lack of hood clearance and the availability of centrifugal blower kits. I looked into a roots style, but never found a combo that I liked for use with fuel inj. I know that there was a guy on this forum that did use a 6-71 and got it running. If your friend wants the look of a roots style w/ carb sticking out of the hood, I won't try to sway him one way or the other, but if 600 hp is all he's looking for, there may be easier (not necessarily cheaper) ways.

i tried to talk him out of forced induction, or into a Whipple, but he's stuck on getting a whole cut in the hood. thanks for the reply, Brian

If he is on a budget he could look at one of the smaller blowers like the weiand/holley 177. It readily accepts a single 4bbl and it could feed a small displacement engine. (350) He will also have to find a manifold/blower that will work on his heads. You didn't mention wich ones he has. L98 or LT-1. If this is to be a daily driver and your in Alaska, he may need a way to keep the rain out of the filter. Make sure he thinks this project through before cutting the hole! Good luck.
