Default My header quandry....I need serious suggestions.

O.k. So, since I put my blower on, I hate the fact that I have the crankcase vented into the air filter like the stock ATI kit installs. :U

Here's what I want to do:

Get headers and put an evac kit onto the collectors the proper way to remove vapors with the exhaust vacuum.

A.) Should I get the biggest primaries possible for my eventual goal of around 800HP?

B.) Should I worry about my headers mounting to the heads I will eventually need to support my boosted 800HP requirements?

What I mean is, depending on which heads I go with, will the the exhaust ports be located in a different location calling for custom headers, or am I worried for nothing. For example. Is it easy to find heads that will support my HP requirements with stock intake and exhaust port locations to match up with my header primaries?

Thanks in advance from your friendly neurotic Vette owner :seeya:

Well from what I know if you go with AFR heads you existing headers will fit?

So I would just go with some headman headers and get them jet coated.

so i would go with "B"

You're going to need a "real" set of headers on that car... Which means bigger than the 1.75" everyone offers for the C4's. Stahl has 1 7/8 stepped to 2" primaries for them complete with the port adapters. They ain't cheap though. Or you could have some made. I built my 1 7/8" headers I used to run on my '90... Now I'm running 2 1/8" primaries on the new "big" motor... Up to you as to whether you want to spend the money. I'm actually thinking about building some 1 7/8" and some 2" primary headers for C4's for those interested; I haven't gotten enough feedback yet to do it though...

O.k. Well, if I do go with the Stahl headers, will they fit my heads, and a good set of AFRs? in the future?

How much we talkin' price wise? ;)

I run the AFR 220 LT4 head and the exhaust ports are different than regular (oem) LT4 head ("D" port -vs- rectangular).
