My 92 has 75,000 on it now but I wont have the $$$ till next yr for one. Then it will have about 85,000 on it.Is that too late to put a supercharger on it?Oh yeah anyone know a good place pricewise for one?I seen them for like $4500 which seems like alot to me.....
I think it's too late to put a supercharger on your Vette. S/C's place alot of pressure on motors and with too many miles you will need to rebuild pretty soon. Actually even with a new stock motor if you abuse the car the motor won't last very long at even low boost.
I think the general rule of thumb is, if your going to supercharge a stock Vette, start saving for a rebuild unless your planning to baby it. Of course some people are exceptions.
P.S. Don't let this stop your power adder hunt. Just add the blower with a low PSI pulley and start saving for a rebuild as soon as possible.
Re: Too late 2 add a Supercharger? (bill mcdonald)
if you really want it have the heads removed and the combustion chambers redone to lower the compression. it would help, but adding a sc adds a lot of stress and matters would get worse if something broke.
