Default Too late 2 add a Supercharger?

My 92 has 75,000 on it now but I wont have the $$$ till next yr for one.Then it will have about 85,000 on it.Is that too late to put a supercharger on it?Oh yeah anyone know a good place pricewise for one?I seen them for like $4500 which seems like alot to me.....

Some will disagree.

I think it's too late to put a supercharger on your Vette. S/C's place alot of pressure on motors and with too many miles you will need to rebuild pretty soon. Actually even with a new stock motor if you abuse the car the motor won't last very long at even low boost.

I think the general rule of thumb is, if your going to supercharge a stock Vette, start saving for a rebuild unless your planning to baby it. Of course some people are exceptions.

P.S. Don't let this stop your power adder hunt. Just add the blower with a low PSI pulley and start saving for a rebuild as soon as possible.

Yeah, too many miles, seems it would be a good time to rebuild the motor too...

You wanna use forged rods and pistons anyhow with a blower.

if you really want it have the heads removed and the combustion chambers redone to lower the compression. it would help, but adding a sc adds a lot of stress and matters would get worse if something broke.

Just make sure your internals are strong enough. Also get good seals or they bust.
