How much air does that blower push out? How much power do you plan on making? ALso do have any pics of the D1-R

My friend just ordered one for his 396-L98. The box is the size of a small coffin" 5 to 6' long" it is very pretty and very expensive "polished chrome.... To answer you question it has the ability to push out 30 pounds of boost

The D1-R flows 2000 cfm and 32lbs.of boost. I don't have any pictures of it yet but it is polished and looks awesome. You can see specs. at http://www.procharger.com click on models for a list of all the blowers. They do not have a kit to put this blower on a vette it requires a custom install intercooler has to be fabricated to flow twice as much as the one that ATI makes for the vette also requires 3inch tubing instead of the 21/2. I mounted the blower this morning to see what mods I need to make and the one thing that stands out right away is that the hood lacks about four inches of closing. I just finished modifying the fan shroud trying to make room for the large tubes. This would not be an installation for the inexperenced to tackle. As to how much power the blower is capable of 1200hp but I don't expect to make that because of flow restrictions of the heads and intake. Heads that would flow that much would not be a good choice for a street car but I have nos and that will help make up for some of the loss. :seeya

Congrats on the blower i was going to go to the D1-R but i cant get high enough in the RPM Range to utilize all the boost, like my D1 is just about right but a little bigger cam and heads would make a world of difference because i get alot of boost around 5800rpm! and the TPI takes it like a champ..WEll i guess it does not have a choice being forced in there! :D But have fun i know what the coffin looks like i was scared thinking of all the part i had to put together!

Have a good day :yesnod:

I found the same thing on my '89 with the larger blower. But the aftermarket 4" lightweight (~40 lb) cowl hood helps due to the much shallower reinforcement ribs. I also mounted it different than I did on my '87 with the D-1. The tubes are all custom made from mandrel bent "U" tubes purchased through Summit. The fan shroud is gone, and the intercooler is completely custom Spearco.

Best of Luck,
Aaron

Well Rocky say's that he built a 302 his friends tell me it is a 408 you can't believe anything that you hear. Before I run him I was told to stay away from him that nobody could beat him but when I ran his bad nitrious mudstain I shut off after three gears because if I had stayed on the throttle any longer he would not have been in the same zip code. I don't think he will get 500 rwhp from a 302 but even if he does and we run again it will be the same results I will just have to run a little harder hell if he keeps working on that thing someday he may get it fast enough that I will have to use my nos and spray him :D I saw Rocky at the show in Wabash and I told him that I would give him a picture of my car so that he could see what the front looked like for a change. :seeya

Jay stop by sometime but you should call first or i may be gone. I have the bracket for the blower done going to Ft. Wayne to the chrome shop in the morning. I got some parts to pick up that are done and leave the blower bracket to be chromed. You know what they say if it won't run chrome it.
