It seems to me that if I took the bolt directly to the left of the purple manifold (on the far right of the steel braided line) off, I could maybe attach the left side of the gauge to that, then put the botl I took off on the right side of the nitrous gauge, and then maybe I could attach that side to the bottle? Or should the gauge just fit inbetween the hose and the bottle as I have it positioned in the pic....in which case I guess it just doesn't fit?
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
the gauge end connecting to the steel braided is too small (the botl is bigger than the manifold end), and the end to connect to the bottle is too small to fit around...i guess my gauge is too small, huh.
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
Your gauge should be fine. All you need is the little adapter block to be 6an like previously stated. So you don't need a whole new gauge. Just pull the one you have out of the adapter block, get the proper block, and bolt her up.
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (Vette92)
i may jsut get a new gauge that fits without any adapting.....I tried to get the nut or whatever off the hose (the part to the left of the purple manifold), but i have no idea how it comes off. I'll just get a new gauge, and sell the old one.
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (Hi-psi)
ok , im just going to get a compucar gauge, also I heard something about having to use a teflon sealant around where you put the gauge in? Do have I have to do that?
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
AARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHH HHHHHH!! I called compucar today and they told me that all the bag kits have a #4 fitting! THis is completely contrary to what I've been told on here?! How is it possible that Hi-Psi and I have the same kit, but his is a #6?! They also said something about the nipple, and that it should have an adapter on it to fit. Am I just an idiot for not knowing how to put this gauge on or what?!!!! If I'd try to screw on the ends (as positioned in the picture)...the gauge would be too small to fit onto the bottle side (on the right in the pic), and the hose side would be too small to screw into the hose/nut!!! AAAARRRGH!
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
Where did you get the purple connector? What size is it? Like I said before, it may be a 3an connector as that is the size used in between the selenoids and the nozzles on some wet kits.
NX has a 4an connector (blue) that you can get for ~$15 and still use the gauge you have. I think it is a 5/16 NPT connector for the gauge.
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (Vette92)
Well the place I bought the zex gauge from says it's a #4....so did compucar give me the wrong info? here's what ARE racing (the place that sold me the gauge) had to say:
"If they use #4, the ZEX gauge manifold (adapter) is #4 female on one side which screws where the feed line would go on the bottle and the other side is #4 male which is where you would put the feed line. I know this fits all Nitrous Works, Edelbrock, ZEX, Nitrous Express, Nitrous Pro-Flo...etc...I honestly do not know why it will not fit you Comp-U-Car kit...it may not be #4???" This is pretty ridiculous....IT SHOULDN'T BE THIS HARD TO GET A CORRECT NITROUS GAUGE!
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
Easiest way to find out what size your bottle is...take it to a refill station and ask them what the size of the nipple is. They should be able to tell you right off if it is 4 or 6an. Might as well make friends now.
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (Vette92)
might do that, but I'd liek compucar to get me a straight answer....I've sent them an email with the above picture and everything...earlier on the phone they told me their hoses are all #4, and since hi-psi has the same kit as me and apparently he says it's #6, I think compucar told me the wrong thing.....I was hoping that compucar actually knew the details of the products they sell.
I don't want to get an adapter, either...because I tried to remove the nut on the end of the hose (which I guess is where the adapter would go? (directly to the left of the gauge manifold in the pic) for about 15 minutes and I have no idea how to remove it. Or does the adapter screw right onto the gauge manifold ends, and then screws onto the bottle/hose?
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
I must have missed the post where Hi-Psi said the Compucar was a 6AN line. I even reread it and still mised it. ;) Find out yourself or you are just guessing at the problem.

Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (YellowFvr)
Is he saying that his kit was a 6an line, or is he just going along with a statement that I said about the possibility of the line being a 6an line. Just trying to help out.
Re: Help! Can't fit nitrous gauge to Compucar bottle! (Vette92)
good call....just called compucar again and they told me afirmatively that it IS a #4.....apparently I'm supposed to disconnect the line from the SOLENOID (with a 9/16th wrench), and then fit the gauge in THERE! I think that was my problem...seeing as I was trying to install it in the traditional mounting point! in the "nitrous in a bag" setup there's about 6 inches of line from the bottle to the solenoid (dry setup), so it's slightly different. Pretty sure problem solved...we'll see!
