Default Re: pinging (antroc)

antroc,

Running 10 pounds of boost I hope you have an intercooler... In hot weather you will need to back off on your timing.. do you have like a MSD BTM ? If not I'd suggest some equivelant to that... 2300 to 3000 is where the s/c starts to buld boost... so that makes sense of not even at WOT... your ignitionis probably advancing too far... you need to look into that..

pinging or detonation is VERY bad on your engine.. you'll be picking up pieces of pistions out of the oil pan if you don't resolve it...

You can drop your plugs perhaps one step colder in heat range .. that may help some.. if you don't have an intercooler (one would dramatically help)... you should drop you boost to some where between 6-8 pounds...

You fule regulator should be set with the vacuum disconnected then put the vacuum line back on... if you don't have a fuel pressure guage.. or a boost guge you should have them installed... which 24 pound injectors yoshould be pushing about 80-85 pounds... see the other thread i responded to you on...

Best regards,

mo
