Alright, I need some help from all you tuning guru's out there. I ordered the P-1SC from ATI. Now I know it comes with its own FMU, and intercooler. They said stock injectors will be just fine. I'm alright to that point. But now Im gonna have to tune this puppy. Now I know putting it on the dyno is the absolute best way, but I cant get an appointment for 4 weeks. So, I have to initially tune it. Several people have told me to get an EGT gauge. Which is fine, but what are the numbers i have to match? And, an air/fuel ratio gauge is only a basic gauge. So if someone could explain tuning this with the EGT and the ATI FMU, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.
I'm running a vortech and have an ATI intercooler thats been on backorder for two months....
What I have done is take auottap and i did like partial throttle runs and looked at the knock retard, and the o2 readings... I rather than running the FMU choose a Carroll supercharger superfueler to bump up the fuel pressure at 10 points across spectrum. After Id make a partial throttle run, I'd look at the readings and makeadjustments. I don't have a wide band o2 either however I have found that seeing the o2's at about .900 seems to work pretty good. I also have the LT1 editor which I have pulled some timing out of the ecm at least until the intercooler comes in... I took some readings before I put the SC in the car and factored up what the o2s were reading at that time.... on the log they read that my AFR is like 10.4.. but I beleive the reality is they are cloer to like 12-12.5 as I dun see any black smoke under acceloration
Id be interested to see how things work out for you interms of timing...
If i can be any further help please feel free toemail me...
Just gap some nonplatinum plugs at .35 with stock ingnition. Turn your FMU out untill the injectors don't look up under full boost. Normally stock injectors will lock up at 90-98 PSI. Thats all. Any question please e-mail me.
PS This is the only way without a dyno!
