Default Considering 100hp dry shot of nitrous on a 93 6spd LT-1 w/ hot cam kit ->

I am considering buying a nitrous system for my 1993 (speed density) convertible 6spd LT-1.

Which kit should I get? Wet, dry? I am interested in having a remote bottle opener, window switch (3000 to 6000 RPM), extra fuel supplying device, etc. I am not interested in a bottle heater, unless these things are absolutely crucial after seeing what can happens if it malfunctions, or is left on.

I will have to double check with Ed Wright to make sure his custom chip is ok for this setup...It supplys up to 36 degrees spark advance and no more (double checked on an auto x-ray).

Anybody have any recommendations as to which kit I should go with? Preferably something Summit Racing Equipment sells since their Tallmadge/Akron, Ohio distribution center is 10 minutes away for me, and their customer service is incredible.

I put in a NOS dry system, the kit number is 5174. I like this system because it has good reports from the forum and comes with a booster fuel pump.
I also installed all of the safety items - MSD Digital 6 retard, window switch set at 3000 to 5600 and a full throttle switch. Good luck.. :seeya

Thanks, you have a similar setup to me with the 93 Convertible and such.

I wanted to ask if the retard box is totally necessary..Do you retard timing, or spark advance (or both) when running nitrous, and by how much do you retard it...?

Also, (unrelated to nitrous) did you have any problem mating the long tube headers to your Corsa....does it involve cutting the Corsa to put in flanges and stuff? Any advice would be appreciated.

Sounds like you have a top-down rocket.
