Default 1.6 Rocker & spring recommendation

I have a 94 LT1 automatic coupe. The motor is stock but I have a D44 rear with 3.45 gears and a vigilante 3200 stall with a PCM for less tune.

Thinking of adding 1.6 rockers and springs as a mod and would like to know reccomendations for each (part numbers would be great!).

Also am looking at long tube headers.

Thanks!

I Installed 1.6 rockers On my Buddy's Stock 95 you could feel the difference!!!!!
it's a preference... I would stay away from aluminum rockers!!!!
we installed Comp Cam roller tip rockers on the above car...
I personally have stainless steel pro comp roller rockers Identical with comp cam only half the price$$$$$$$
some people say they have had problems with pro comp....
they just had polishing compound all over and needed to be cleaned....
I know they are heavy duty
I have not had any issues yet.. I had my 1.6 installed on a .540 / .570 lift 500hp
engine..

LT headers for a LT1 me to WHY are they so damn expensive for C4's????

Here is a great article on a proven rocker arm set-up for a 95 LT1 using comp cam narrow body RR along with springs, locks, retainers,...etc... with part numbers. Ill Be giving this a try on my 95 this winter while the snow falls.

......... With a stock engine you can bolt on the 1.6's with the original springs ... the ratio difference only gives an additional valve lift of around .020" ... you will feel the difference in performance .....

Have you made any passes with the current configuration, and if so what was the ET?

I you crunch the numbers you'll find the difference is much closer to .030+.

Yes but was bouncing off the rev limiter on the shift due to the torque converter. Sent the PCM to PCM's for less for and adjustment and hoping to run it on Friday.

Run 1 Run 2 Run 3
60' 1.881 2.045 1.831
330' 5.697 5.897 5.682
1/8 8.903 9.120 8.931
1/8 MPH 76.93 76.53 76.16
1000' 11.638 11.868 11.689
1/4 13.907 14.160 13.996
MPH 99.77 99.00 96.89

Did not get up on the converter in the 2nd run.
Feels like we are losing at least a 1/2 second if not more.

1.6 "Self- Aligning" roller-rockers & LT4 springs are the way to go.

I measured the retainers on my 94 LT1 and they were the same as the new LT4 retainers I bought.

I would recommend new 10 degree keepers, too. Jegs is a good source for all.

The LT4 retainers are suppose to be slightly lighter.
