Default How to remove pulley from ATI 600b

Wanted to get the collective experience of the hive. I know it is a real PITA to remove the pulley from an ATI 600b. I tried to do it years ago and bent all my gear pullers so I gave up.

But now I will be ordering a new set of pulleys from BlowerWorks so I better be able to get-r-done.

How did you guys successfully get it off? I don't have a torch, just propane and heat gun. I have an air impact wrench, but I don't think I could get it in there.

Any tips to make sure I do not ruin the seals would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance

For some reason, the first pull on a P600B always requires the use of a torch. And no matter who supplies the next pulley (Blowerworks, ATI, ASP, ect), they all come off fairly easy after that. I have never had to use a torch on any pull but the first.

Aaron is the man!!! I was lucky. All I had was a heat gun. It did take what felt like 5 minutes to heat up and then the pulley just slid of with out any effort. Of coarse it was very hot so I put it on the ground and sent my new pulley on it for a few minute and then it slid right on too. Thanks for all your help Aaron. I do not now if you remember my blower blown up. Greg from BlowerWorks told me to send it back to ATI and I did. They fixed it fast for $1019.00. Said the oil line filter was blocked and burned up the bearing and bent the impeller. Then 3 weeks later my alternator blown up and two part went through the hood. 1 new alternator, 1 new belt and 4 days at the body shop to fix the hood. My luck has to turn around...
