After reading 4 pages of info, I found that the ZEX nitrous system (Wet or Dry) is a good quality and reliable system. It got some bad reviews when it first came out because a lot of nitrous users didn't understand the computer box.
I like the ZEX nitrous system because it has several safety features built in like fuel and nitrous cut off. I also, like the compact design and the fact that it works off of the nitrous bottle pressure.
I had a zex kit but ended up going with the NOS kit instead on my 86...I kinda like the NOS solenoids better because I could fit them into tighter places, but really it doesnt matter too much.
Coming from 10+ years in the sport compact scene I've used the Holley (NOS) kits, ZEX and NX kits. Zex was geared towards a more "user friendly" design, due to the horror stories of using nitrous and blowing an engine. Zex does has safety features built it, but so does any properly installed NOS or NX dry kit. They all use a fuel pressure safety switch, and if the activation switch on the throttle body is installed properly it will only activate right at wide open throttle.
In terms of reliability, dry kits are the most simple and reliable versus a wet fogger setup. NX definitely leads the group as far as solenoid reliability is concerned though, as they warranty all their solenoids and other companies do not.
In my experience with ZEX though, I've never had any issues. Most problems you read about nitrous setups are the fault of the installer and owner, not the kit.
