Default What is the best rings for my build with 100-150hp shot of no2

I looking for the best rings to use between molly or ductile molly? Please look at my post in tech section for details. I will be spraying 100-150hp every now and then. The ring manufacture is Hastings and they say to use ductile top rings (extra $120.00) engine builder and store that sold me the kit says the Hastings Molly rings that come with the kit is fine for my app. Do I really need to spend the extra $120.00??
Thanks To all!!

So, you're looking to save $120 because the salesman said what he has in hand is good enough and the manufacturer doesn't know their own product, correct? We all start off saying we're just going to spray 100-150 shot, but before you know it, we're re-jetting! Either way, if the manufacturer told me I needed to upgrade my top ring for protection from the extra heat I was going to put on it, I think I would give them the benefit of the doubt. just my two cents.

I just was checking to see if the manufacturer was giving me a sales upgrade pitch also Also was looking to see what type of ring everyone else is using for nitrous
Thanks for your reply! I guess I will squeeze out the extra $120.00 For the piece of mind.
This is the post in the tech section with all the details of my build. Please feel free to look it over, and give your opinions
Thanks, Bob

This sounds to me to be the basic "do it once and do it right" response.

If you go with the more expensive rings you will always wonder, "Did I really need to spend that extra $120"

But if you go with the cheap rings you might end up having to rebuild and then you will be saying "I should have spent the extra $120!!!"

The worst part is that if you go with the cheap rings and they start deteriorating, you will start loosing horsepower but the engine will seem to run the same. You may not even notice when the rings start leaking, but the car will be slower.

If its recommended by the manufacturer then I would upgrade the rings. If there are more than a few people telling you that you are ok with the cheaper rings then I MIGHT consider going with them. Build it for the long haul.
