I tore mine down to do a rebuild and it has some problems. The bearing bores are not good. If anyone has a head unit, I would be interested.

Have you tried taking it to a machine shop and to have the bores sleeved?

Yes, that was my plan. But I also have a few other issues. The unit I have is BD-11. I ordered new custom built ceramic hybrid bearings and a new impeller shaft. Well the impeller shaft is different because it is for an improved model BD-11A. This means my impeller will not fit it, so I am into buying a new impeller and related washers, nuts, and shims. The old design is no longer made. My impeller can not be made to fit the new shaft. The money pit keeps getting deeper. I spent $315 for the bearings and another $230 for the Impeller shaft. Add the machine work and new impeller and I thinking I might be better to fine a good used BD-11A and rebuild with my new bearings.

Another issue is the bores are so distorted and I can find no one to give me an exact measurement for center to center and the bearing bores.

Good news. I visited the machine shop today. It looks like they will be able to take care of all my problems. They are pretty sure they will be able to rework my impeller and update it to make it fit the new shaft.

When this thing is done it should be even more stout that a new one.
