Well after a few distractions and a few hours of fiddling around with different idler and tensioner pulley sizes. I finally came to an agreement with myself on the right combination to insure that there will be NO blower belt issues with Glens car. The engine had been sitting patiently for three days in the Glens car waiting for the T Trim to be installed. I finally got it all together last night and she started right up with less than 2 seconds cranking over! What a releif to hear that engine running.
With the engine apart on this go around. I had the pistons coated with a ceramic heat barrier, ceramic anti-friction coating, and a oil shedding coating on the undersides. The camshaft was also revised with a wider lobe separation to give me a bit more engine vacuum for more brake assist with the vacuum booster. The AFR heads were also fully looked over for any signs of problems.
Thanks to Greg for is infinite wisdom, as well. Between him and I, we figured out the right combination of pulleys to properly tension the belt. Not to mention he gave he some tips on assembling his blower pulley. Now it is a breeze to install!
With the new engine revisions I see 14psi and that magic 600 number as a reality. With the cam timing change, the engine still has a nice lopey idle but I can tell that it has been tamed down a bit. It isn't as choppy as before, time will tell if I made a significant change in braking assist. I just let it run until it reached operating temperature and made sure that my tune was good.
Next week will be the test and tune sessions once I break the engine in on the dyno. After tuning the CATs will be installed along with the new X pipe. For tuning I am running one of my H pipes through the 3" BB system. After all of that then Glen can come and taker his baby home.
congratulations tom a good weekend indeed!! can't wait to see some number once you get the engine broken in! keep us posted on this man I know quite a few of us are on the edge of our seats for some updated results of the new combination!

Mo, it does and will affect the idle fuel trims a little bit. You can compensate by tweaking the MAF tables in the idle regions. The reason it affects the fuel trims is because there is no unmetered air entering and leaning out the PCV system. The PCV sucks air through the same chamber as the internal idle air passages of the intake. It didn't seem to affect the off idle trims at all.
Ok, yes that makes sense, that was what i was seeing as well. I had to do that with the vapor can as well. I was curious about the open atmosphere was emissions issues....

Final numbers came in at 616Hp and almost 590 ft/lbs! And that is with me gently rolling into the throttle to keep the tires from blowing off! This is with 12 PSI of boost. Descreening the MAF sensor gave me an additional 1.8 PSI Just goes to prove that any intake restriction to the blower will cause less boost!
Really descreening the MAF on an LTX helped? Hmm I always thought that it would make them a little more "spastic"... unlike the L98 that did improve things a bit...
Great numbers! congrats... Of course I'm only running a "s" trim... It will be interesting to see what I end up with...

616rwhp on a mustang dyno is very impressive# and on only 12psi of boost. Close to 650hp on a 248 dyno jet for sure.
Ps. I missed the Fedex guy today on the delivery of the DFI Box.

Notice that the power "appears" soft on the bottom end. The reason it looks this way is because I have to "roll" into the throttle. If I just stab it the boost hits too hard at about 3500 RPM and the tires will just blow away on my rolls. This car is just a BEAST
