Default 427 tt sbc on dyno

Tw finally did some pulls on the dyno after wiring the accel gen 7 . Problem was, at 3200 it blew the tires off. Tom said it made 475hp and 535 ft lb of torque at that rpm. Hope to get better numbers if he can get some weight on the back of the car. Boost was 15.5 and no knock .

that kind number at 3200rpm, it gonna be a insanely sick on the street. What size turbo are you using? Some information onthe turbo please. Damn, at 3200rpm, mine turbo is just start to spool.

Very nice

I assume this is a small block?. Would you mind sharing the specifics of your build? I am getting ready to assemble a 427 and planned on building for boost, but was talked out of it due to supposed durability and longevity factors. Specifically, the compression height of the piston with a 6" rod and the giant dish (-36cc) scared me away from the boost and I'll only have enough money to build it once .

I saw a tt427 over at MTI put down 722 rwhp. They had to have a couple of guys lay on the back to keep it on the rollers. It was a c5 though. You are definetly going to make some big power.

Well, so far I have got about 550hp and 600 ft/lbs at less than 8 PSI or just at 8. I have some issues with a wastegate that is giving me fits. And for some reason the wastegates are releiving more than they should even though I have them calibrated to lift at 9 psi, I can't seem to get any more boost. I am going to take a short break from this car and get Glens engine installed in the morning, then once the wastegate diagphram arrives I will move back to the TT car. There is more power in it, I know there is. It is just taking a bit longer than I had anticipated to convince the engine to give it up

It's a dart aluminum tall deck block with 6.125 rods. I think the pistons were -20 cc dish (I don't remember) with a compression of 8.5 . 227 afr heads o-ringed with T and D shaft rockers.

Not to try to insult anyone on here but hp is computed by torque.

Torque * rpm / 5252 = HP

535 * 3200 / 5252 = ~326 HP

You are correct about the math,I'm sorry I didn't notice the error. Pretty sure the torque was correct but not the hp. Anyway, I will post the new numbers when Tom turns up the boost.

Ok. Tom just called tonite and gave me the new numbers. 680 rwhp and 710 lbft tq at 14.5 lb boost 91 octane. He said he would post the dyno-graph soon but I couldn't wait! Tom said that it still was spinning the tires and he thought it had over 700 rwhp in it . Since this is a mustang dyno, I was really happy with the numbers.I didn't know if my engine would make very much hp because the turbos are small t3/to4e60's. I can't go bigger because there is no room down by engine to fit them. I could possibly enlarge the compressor wheels to gain 100 to 150 more hp though.

Here is Chucks dyno curve from the other night.

This curve was made at about 14 PSI it did bump 15 at one point, but even if I turned it up, measuring it was hard because the tires would break loose. I was alone tuning this beast and there was no one around to push down on the rear end to help traction. I know there is 700+ in it but on my dyno it would be hard to measure especially with this kind of torque! This curve is a filtered curve, another test sheet shows 676 and 731, but jeez at this rate a couple here and there isn't going to make a bit of a difference

update... I went to get the car from Tom but I was not happy about the loud exhaust or the idle (It idled like Warren Johnson's pro stocker) .Tom did a great job and none of the problems are his fault, and he agreed to make changes for me. The cam was a 248/256 at .05 solid roller. Since I made max power before 5800,it was decided that a hydraulic cam of 238/236 would be better for driveability. Also, the 3" B and B exhaust is being changed to a lt1 2.75 " with boost actuated cutouts .

nice , that’s what I would do , there is no need for big cams with boost car. small cam lots off boost and still drive it all over and make over 800 hp …. That’s what I always wanted but its hard when your trying to go fast on motor … good luck man car looks great
