Default water on intercooler mod?

a simple mod alot of WRX guys do is use there windshield wiper motor to pump fluid onto the intercooler. sounds good to me but what do you guys think? just trying to see what i can stur up with this. anything positive or negative to say about this method of cooling the intake air temps? sounds easy if you have an intercooler but also sounds cheap and cost effective.

If anyone did a test and monitored IAT's that would be beneficial.

its a tried and tested means of reducing inlet temps on higher presure FI set ups on import cars! they normally run quiet high presures (30psi is easly doable) so any gains are easier to see! also the rally guys use them and have done for ages!

not sure if you would see any benefits but its worth a shot! simple reroute you washer lines to the intercooler and use the stock nossels or some spry ones (you know like you get on bottles of houes hold cleaning products) for a really fine mist! and if you dont see anything then its only cost you your time!

Wouldn't you be better off by spraying that fluid into the motor as gaseous intercooling?
