Default Maggie Blowers for SBC's and LT1's

Just incase no one saw these......... not sure if they will fit the Corvettes or not, I'll send them an email and ask.

http://www.magnusonproducts.com/blueprints.htm

I don't think we have 15.9" from the block to the hood. Who's got the Sawzall??

Their side intake setup is only 10.9" tall..

Very interesting.. But how would you get the fuelinjectors in there??

LOL, that's the one I was looking at, I think I need to turn up the resolution on my screen.

It looks like the injectors and fuel rails fit in there from the drawing.

The only other problem might be the different sizes of crank pullies from the F-bodies to the Corvettes. Actually I think there crank hub is slightly longer too, so that may play into it as well.

Just got off the phone with Magnuson. They have the hardware for it, but they are looking for an engine to do final belt setup on it.
ANYBODY IN CA WILLING TO HELP??
They also don't have any software(ie tuning) setup for it so they are looking for a car to help them out with that too. They said that it wouldn't clear the hood and you'd need a high rise hood or to cut a hole in it. But the blower is just a reworked Gen1 setup so if you wanted to do a rear mount dist you should be able to. This does run off the acc belt as well, so I'm not sure if there is belt slip issues with that. Doesn't Procharger do the same thing with their belts??

And the retail price is........
$2875 For blower and rails
$3250 Blower rails and intercooler
$4200 Polished blower rails and intercooler

I hope I got somebody's gears turning on this. I'd love to see a maggie LT1 running around somewhere.

I think an LT1 car, but they may be looking for both actually. If you call them and ask the sales rep he'll transfer you to another guy that knows alot about the project. They switched me to him when I asked about pricing. Give it a try and see what happens.

I called them back when I was in SoCal.
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show....php?t=1015727
They had pics of an intercooled setup on a SBC and were plannined on coming out with an LT1 kit.
Quote:
BTW I just got off the phone with Magnacharger, the good news is that SBC ( L98 etc ) kit is done, and that in 90days the LT1/4 kit will be complete.

The bad news… for the full package including a wiring harness, for street rods, about $7k, it will also NOT fit under the stock hood.
Fuel injected and intercooled

I'd be game but if I tell the wife I'm spending another 7K... you might be sending me flowers LOL

Do they say what the boost would be? I'm hitting 10 now with my current system (I'm still dialing in the fuel) but should see 12 with no problem...

;;;;;;;;;;Just realized they are for an LT1;;;;;;;;;;;;

out here in cali, if you just cut a hole in the hood and let it all hang out, do you think the chp will just give us a fix it ticket? you think a four inch cowel will hide that beauty? i would love to have that thing stick out through the hood in flat black powder coat.

imagine the stoplight intimidation confrontations with that thing sticking out of your hood? you gotta to love it.
imagine taking the car to get smogged, just tell the guy that its a more efficient air clearner and look the other way.

I get a kick out of the people who motion to roll your window down and ask "HEY? what's that thing under your hood that sounds like a dentist drill ? "

I draw enough attention with the cam and slight lope let alone the S/C under the hood HEH

i'm with mo, my car also has a lopey idle and loud already. my first forced induction project is going to have to be rear mounted turbo. the rear turbo has the advantage of keeping the ac, and making the car quieter. on top of that it can be hidden very easy.

if i lived in anther state and there weren't any laws about having a nice shiny huffer sticking out of the hood, i would get the maggie.

Supercharging reduces emissions. My procharger is smog legal in 50 states. Magnachargers I believe, are also smog legal. They were a couple of years ago when I researched this.
