So... where are you installing sending "units" for vacum/boost gauges, fuel pressure gauges?

Any thoughts on just installing a good fuel pump & upgrading to that nice pump wiring kit I've saved the link to already instead of installing the procharger "auxillary" pump.

thanks for the continued input & advice!

Trog,

I can probably speak for most of us. We generally mount our fuel pressure and boost gauges in the A-pillar, you can get them through Summit or other places.

In terms of fuel pumps, I for one have upgraded my in-tank unit and also upgraded my accesory pump as well see my signature). Greg @ Blower works greg@blowerworks.net has done some great work on different pumps and the flow and current draw.

hope this helps!

Mo

dual gauge pod, wide band O2 and boost gauges.

for fuel, i am expecting a little more power then perhaps you are but decided on parallel dual intank walbro GS340S's, according to Gregs data they should support around a 1000 HP. another good way to go is a single intank replacement with racetronix kit and if you want more you can add a boost-a-pump I think with the stock line and rails it is good to about 600 at the wheels. or you could add gregs inline and it made some nice power support as well, do a search for his post on fuel pump test data to decide which setup with meet the fuel requirements for your power goals!

Gauge pod is pretty obvious. Actually wasn't what I was asking...

Where are you installing the sending units under the hood?

Fuel pressure from the fuel rail schrader valve or?? Boost/vacum, on the upper plenum or???

Racetronix kit w/ high vol pump & wiring kit was what I was looking at installing. Seems to be enough fuel for the amount of HP I am looking at.

Thanks!

Okay, a little more detail on the vacum. I'm pretty familiar w/ my curr. setup but a pic is always helpful.

Thanks!

Hi TRog,

Ah ok... sorry.... The schrader is the easiest... I run mine inline from the fuel line, but have AN 6's on my fuel rail ( electronic pressure switch). Also in the boost guage I'm using a Autometer with the boost log, so I have the map on the passengerside manifold as close to the vacuum fittings as possible, also you want to use rigid hose where ever possible...

if have an autometer fuel presure gauge..i mounted the sending unit behind the license plate after the inline pump i am using a walbro system intank and inline along with a racetronics fuel pump power harness all from blowerworks . my auto meter boost/vacum gauge is "t"d off the map sensor wich is mounted on my fire wall right behind the intake manifold. then both gauges are on the a pillar

Thanks, I have some ideas now. I'll also take a look at the boost log gauge versions.
