Default what is on the side of the intake manifold?

hey guys..

on the passenger side of the intake, there are two devices with a tube running to the throttle body, it appears to be some kind of pressure switch and a solenoid. I think they are for the A/C kick off under wide open throttle perhaps? can anyone shed some light on this and if they can be removed.. I don't need an automatic switch off.. I will just make sure I have it off when I am running hard.. never liked that anyways..lol thanks in advance

Default Cannister Purge

Hey Icvette,

I think what you are referring to is the cannister purge valve/solenoid. You really do not want to remove or deactivate. It doesn't affect your performance and you'll smell fumes eventually from the charcoal cannister at rear of vehicle. There's no A/C kill switch on the LT1.

Regards,
greg

Chris,

My understanding is the ECM at least on OBDII will disable the A/C clutch while you are under WOT. I beleive it's like 10 seconds...
