Default New cam is a nice addition on my single system.

Well I finally got away from the stock LT1 cam which I was able to get 585RWHP/628RWTQ Sae corrected at 15PSI. I went with a 232/232 .540(1.5)lift 114LSA+6. I stopped by the dyno to pull some data with the new cam (no tuning) and the results are encourging. I made 650RWHP/652RWTQ at 15PSI. I believe there is a fair amount left in it as it sits, but I need to upgrade the fuel supply prior to pushing harder. I gained alot under the curve which I did not expect in areas (IE: gainig 90hp/70tq at 3600RPM) due to the new cam helping spool the turbo alot faster. But all in all I am pleased. All runs are on 93 octane.

outstanding, now you have me wondering if I should up my cam selection before I plunk the motor in.. although, you are running moe cubes then I am so my LT4 cam may still be alright for my displacement.. ah.... decisions decisions.. think I will start with the stocker.. but that is phenominal gains with just a cam swap! now go upgrade your fuel system and turn up the boost!

Yea Chris, I think my advice is stick with the LT4 cam for now. It is a "known good item" and should be pretty easy to tune for, then once you have worked the bugs out then go bigger. I am looking at the mega squirt stuff right now. I am tired of all the baggage that comes with using the stock PCM and a 2 bar MAP. I may try to affix a Ford EDIS 36-1 sheel to my balancer and go that route.

I'm thinking twice about my 224/224 cam in my 383 now. I think it will be a nice little "starter" cam. lol

Great numbers, what is your turbo and how are you piped?

I am running aa Schwitzer HT400 that I got through AEBS (the race shop I part time with works with them sometimes). It is a T6 based turbo similar to a large frame T88.
As for piping I am set up very similar to Chris.

And thank you all for the nice comments.

yeah I think I will stick with the stocker for now.. can't be all that bad and I am not feeding a 383 either.. my loley 355 doesn't need as much time to let the hair dryer to its job.. however, Antivenom.. what are the specs of your cam? may be interested in it if ya decide to upgrade down the road!
